For 14 years, Michael and his wife Kiomi poured their hearts into the Garden of Read'n (formerly the Christian Book Store). Located in the heart of Missoula, it was a bookstore, coffee lounge, and gift shop designed to offer a peaceful sanctuary. It was a space built for reflection, conversation, and community support.
Running the bookstore was a daily lesson in retail operations and personal hospitality, but it also became a launchpad for broader community engagement. During their ownership, they got deeply involved in promoting Christian concerts throughout the area.
They even promoted a band called Goofyfooted, successfully getting three of their songs played on national Christian radio stations. While the physical bookstore eventually closed as retail shifted online, the memories, the music, and the community support that flowed through Garden of Read'n represent some of their most meaningful work.
